The Los Angeles Human Rights Initiative (LAHRI) is a group of medical students, residents and volunteer clinicians dedicated to (1) providing forensic medical and mental health evaluations to survivors of persecution seeking asylum in the United States, (2) exposing our medical students to the issues affecting the physical and mental health of local refugee and immigrant communities, and (3) expanding UCLA’s footprint in the arenas of research, policy and advocacy related to refugee and immigrant health.
