Dr. May joined UCLA in 2011 for her gastroenterology fellowship, and also earned a PhD in health policy & management at the Fielding School of Public Health. Her doctoral dissertation examined black-white disparities in colorectal cancer incidence, screening and outcomes. She currently leads a health services and clinical research team examining epidemiology, disease risk factors, and implementation science for improving disease prevention and early detection of cancer.
She is currently a digestive diseases faculty member at UCLA with a dual appointment with the VA, as well as the Director of UCLA's Melvin and Bren Simon Gastroenterology Quality Improvement Program and Assistant Director for the UCLA STAR program.
